13/June/2024 - Hanoi

Organized by Habitat for Humanity International in Vietnam

Representatives of VDAS Design Association, HCMC, Vietnam, including Mr. Ho Tan Duong, President of VDAS; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vice President of VDAS; Ms. Tran Ngoc Danh, Vice President of VDAS; and two member companies, Ardor and Studio3Eight, participated in the "Vietnam Housing Forum" held on June 13 at Hoa Binh Hotel. The forum also had the participation of Habitat Vietnam, government agencies, embassies, businesses, research and academic institutions, development organizations, and communities interested in the housing sector.

Under the increasingly severe impact of climate change, housing has become a focal point in Vietnam. It is not only perceived as a shelter but also a key factor linking important development aspects such as education, health, and the environment. Despite encouraging achievements, many vulnerable groups, including economically disadvantaged households, communities in disaster-affected areas, migrant workers, and people with disabilities, still face significant barriers to accessing decent and affordable housing. This highlights the urgent need for multi-dimensional solutions.

With these observations, Habitat for Humanity International in Vietnam (HFHI) and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) organized the Vietnam Housing Forum 2024. The forum aims to draw attention to urgent issues and provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss and co-design sustainable housing solutions for the future.

Representing VDAS and the community of Vietnamese designers and architects, Ms. Tran Ngoc Danh also participated in the discussion session "Green Building and Sustainable Housing Solutions." Her goal was to emphasize the importance of the Green Economy to promote participation and commitment in seeking comprehensive and sustainable solutions. She encouraged the sharing and learning of innovative technologies, practices, and financial models to develop partnerships in the housing sector and related industries.
