NU Architecture & Design

TDX Ice Factory by NU architecture & design is a 4,000m2 adaptive reuse project in Ho Chi Minh City for District Eight, a furniture brand rooted in Vietnamese heritage. The design repurposed a former industrial space, using 15-year-old timber members from the District Eight’s original factory to connect heritage with modern functionality. Inspired by Vietnamese courtyard typology, the use of locally sourced materials like bamboo and burlap integrates natural elements to create a spatial language that is both refined and grounded. This project honors Vietnamese heritage, promotes sustainability, and provides a functional hub that showcases District Eight’s identity and craftsmanship.

TDX Ice Factory, thiết kế bởi NU architecture & design, là dự án tái sử dụng thích ứng 4,000m2 thuộc District Eight – thương hiệu nội thất mang đậm bản sắc Việt. Việc tái sử dụng vật liệu từ nhà máy cũ là những thanh gỗ 15 năm tuổi từ cơ sở đầu tiên của District Eight, thể hiện sự kết nối giữa di sản thương hiệu và công năng hiện đại. Được lấy cảm hứng từ bố cục sân trong truyền thống Việt Nam, không gian kết hợp chất liệu địa phương như tre, bao bố, tạo nên sự thanh thoát, bền vững và phản ánh rõ dấu ấn của thương hiệu. Dự án là cam kết về tính bền vững, đồng thời tôn vinh bản sắc và tay nghề thủ công của nghệ nhân ở District Eight.
